froggy.OS
A whimsical 3D file system that explores how we can better leverage our spatial senses for digital organization, designed as if it were a frog's computer

froggy.OS is a project that explores how we can better leverage our spatial senses in a file system through 3D representation. What if navigating files felt more like moving through physical space?
It's also a whimsical exercise in prioritizing delight over utility. The project asks: how can we have more fun and less utilitarian interactions with our software? What if our digital tools weren't useful at all? The entire interface is themed as if it were a frog's computer - complete with lily pad folders and pond-themed applications.
The project challenges conventional design patterns by taking the scenic route, choosing impractical outfits, and doing things by hand for the love of it. It's not actually a full operating system (that's just in the name) - it's an exploration of spatial file navigation and a celebration of whimsy in interface design.
I presented this work at Values Based Software Night, a series of talks hosted by Connie Liu at Ambrook, as part of a talk about reimagining how we interact with our digital environments - exploring what happens when we prioritize joy over efficiency and embrace the delightfully impractical.
